The many faces of art as therapy... Therapeutic processing of mental illness and disability, through art and faces
7 to 29 August 2021 Extended – CLOSING Sunday 19 September
These paintings started in 2017 after a major life event because of mental illness. Many of these were created from painting every day, so that I was able to understand myself and my illnesses more. I paint faces due to a fascination with expression because of my autism, and as a triumph for now understanding them. I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder which changed and started my art once again and shows that this collection of paintings has grown as I have grown, fought as I have fought and were affected, for better or worse, from what I experienced in everyday life.
